Instructions to make Kathal kofta gravy:
  1. First wash Kathal and put into pressure cooker add 1/2 tsp salt,little oil and 1/4 cup water.cover and boil on high flame for two whistle and release the pressure.strain the water and let it cool
  2. In a bowl mash the Kathal well with your fingers.(don't use grinder.)add roasted gram flour, 1 tsp oil and all the ingredients mention for kofta.mix very well.adjust the salt as your taste.make lemon size balls from the mixture.
  3. In a pan add oil and shallow fry the kofta on medium flame untill it turns brown from all sides.transfer in a plate and keep aside.
  4. In the same pan add 2-3 tbsp oil add grated onion or onion paste saute untill it turns brown add ginger garlic paste.saute for one minutes.then turn the flame medium and add coriander powder, turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt mix well.add 1/4 cup water and cover it cook on low to medium flame for 2-3 minutes.now remove the lid and cooked gravy masala on high flame for 1-2 minutes.add 1 cup water and garam masala powder,cover and cooked on medium flame when a boil comes turn off the flame
  5. In a serving bowl put the koftas add gravy and garnish with coriander leaves.enjoy the koftas with roti or naan.
