The ingredients needed to make Apple chutney:
  1. Take apples- peeled and chopped
  2. Take sugar -I used a mix of soft dark brown and white sugar
  3. Take raisins
  4. Get piece of fresh ginger, grated
  5. Take mustard seeds
  6. Prepare apple cider vinegar
  7. Make ready salt
  8. Get smoked paprika (optional)
  9. Make ready brown onions - diced
  10. Take Sterilised jars for storage
Instructions to make Apple chutney:
  1. Prepare all ingredients and place in a large,heavy-bottomed pan or maslin pan.
  2. Bring to the boil and simmer for approx.45-50mins. Stir frequently to ensure mixture does not catch on the bottom of the pan.
  3. The chutney is ready when the apples have softened and the chutney is dark and liquid has reduced
  4. Cool slightly and then fill sterilised jars - be careful the chutney will still be hot! Seal and cool.
  5. Ready for Christmas!
