Steps to make Moong Dal Khichdi:
- Mix dal & rice in a mixing bowl, wash it, soak in water for 1 hour.
- Strain it, keep aside.
- Take a pressure cooker, add khichdi, salt & ghee.
- Add water accordingly so as to keep it a lil thick (not mashy).
- Place the lid, give 4-5 whistles at high flame.
- Switch off the flame, open the lid after 5 minutes of cooling. Keep aside.
- Now take a pan, add ghee, heat it.
- Moderate the flame, add hing & zeera, let it splutter.
- Add laung & kali mirch, saute it for a while.
- Add ginger & green chilli, saute it for a while.
- Now add onion, stir fry it at high flame till brown.
- Switch off the flame now, add red chilli flakes, give a stir.
- Mix this tadke with cooked Khichdi. Cover it again.
- Take out in a serving bowl, have it with chutney, dahi,papad, salad & desi ghee.
